Marisu Miranda graduated with a BFA in Fashion Stylizing and Design from Barcelona, Spain. Coming from a highly creative family in the apparel industry, she opened her own business in Barcelona before moving to New York where she was head designer for companies such as Bugle Boy, Gitano, Network Ind., and others.
Marisu has taught Fashion Design at the International Academy of Design & Technology, Tampa, Florida, and conducts Fashion and Styling workshops out of her studio, Marisu Miranda Moda, in Tampa. She participates in the Orlando Fashion and Beauty Show and the Orlando Expo, and her designs have been featured in international fashion newspapers and magazines.
In addition to writing fashion columns for local newspapers in Spain, Marisu has been quoted by the Tampa Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times, Univision, Telemundo, and radio stations throughout Europe. Recently, she critiqued the fashions appearing at the Oscar ceremonies for several media outlets.
Marisu owned and directed a Trend Forecasting Service that followed the latest trends from Spain.
Marisu Miranda's fashion designs have been nominated and won several international competitions.
Marisu continues to consult for fashion companies and endeavors to help people enjoy dressing for success.
Marisu also features her own Haute line of Abaya and Kaftan. All are of original design made from only the finest fabrics from around the world.

Break into the American Market in one of the hottest places in the US- ATLANTA aka HOTLANTA the original birth place of urban fashion in the deep south ! God willing, this July I plan to take AL Laylat to Fashion Week. Breaking into the US market with abaya has been risky but more and more I see that modest fashion design is taking the fashion world by storm. Atlanta Fashion Week is an opportunity for abaya and modest clothing designers or diverse cultures to come together and show their designs and talents. I would really like to see other modest clothing designers enter and please leave a comment if you would like to participate in this event .
Now in its third year, AIFW will bring together some of the industry's brightest stars, designers, and industry experts for a five day event packed with runway shows, trade shows, lavish dinners and glamorous events. Beginning in August of 2007, AIFW made history as the Atlanta Fashion Network presented the first annual Atlanta International Fashion Week with its benefits and big name designers that attracted Atlanta's finest and an international presence. In 2009, once again, from July 22nd to 26th, fashion will take center stage for the of the most highly anticipated fashion event of the year featuring international fashion moguls, celebrities, models, agents, press and buyers at downtown Atlanta's, Atlantic Station.
In producing AIFW, the Atlanta Fashion Network plans to shape fashion and style by displaying what Atlanta has to offer in fashion to the world. Atlanta is known to be a chief influence and birthplace of numerous mainstream musicians and genres, however it is the goal of AIFW Director, Paula Whittle, to have Atlanta recognized as an emerging fashion capital. She says: "Atlanta is known as a music Mecca, but is now becoming a site for fashion stimulus, and can now play a major role in the fashion arena and gain international recognition. I want to bridge the two to create a powerful, innovative convergence." With that, the Atlanta International Fashion Week will welcome international designers and models from various countries such as London, Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Korea, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
Atlanta International Fashion Week will offer innovative and informative workshops and fashion based curricula within Pretty Academy School of Fashion. Classes will be instructed by industry experts and AIFW Fashion Council such as and many more.In addition, AIFW will feature an exquisite and innovative trunk show, "Fashion Store" and premiere fashion runway shows.
