RI is calling its friends and supporters to action to help establish a Zam Zam Satellite Nutrition Center. The Center will close the gap and reach patients in need every month with life-giving therapeutic feeding.

- On-the-job training for local Sudanese nutrition teams

Core to RI Zam Zam Clinic's emergency services is therapeutic feeding to combat rampant malnutrition in children and nursing and pregnant women. Unfortunately, sick women and children living on the distant south side of Zam Zam Camp must walk up to 25 miles to reach care a journey that can put their already poor health at further risk.
$3,000 Will build a therapeutic feeding center. $3,500 Supports one month of nutrition center operating costs. $5,700 Ensures one full year of therapeutic feeding. $60,000 Creates training programs and funds salaries for an entire nutrition team for one year.
Creating skilled nutrition teams is the single most important investment we can make for malnourished children. The greatest obstacle, to a child completing his therapeutic care necessary to rebound to good health, is keeping him/her in the program for routine progress checks and home monitoring to ensure rations are properly prepared and consumed by the child in need. The more local nutrition professionals RI can train, the more capacity we have to reach out, follow-up and ensure continuous care is achieved and malnutrition is stopped in its tracks. Together we are capable to provide relief and change to Darfur."
